Archive Size and Hosting Limits

Understand the difference between the plugin’s no-cap policy and finite hosting resources.

Reviewed 2026-08-28Applies to 1.9.24 and later

No plugin-imposed archive-size cap

MigrateNest does not refuse an archive because it crosses a paid megabyte threshold. This does not remove infrastructure limits.

Limits that still matter

  • free disk space and inode quotas;
  • PHP memory and execution windows;
  • web-server and reverse-proxy limits;
  • filesystem permissions;
  • CPU throttling and remote-service timeouts.

Chunked upload and time-budgeted work reduce dependence on one long request. Preflight checks should be resolved before packaging or restore.
