Host-to-host migration

Move WordPress to a new host without downtime drama.

Use a repeatable preflight, export and verification workflow instead of manually copying files, importing SQL and repairing serialized URLs.

How it works

A safer workflow from start to finish

1

Prepare the destination

Install WordPress and MigrateNest, confirm free disk space, and keep the destination private until it is ready.

2

Export and transfer

Create a full archive on the old host, then upload it or use a direct Pro connection.

3

Verify before DNS

Check admin access, pages, forms, media and permalinks before sending the domain to the new server.

Why it matters

Built for real WordPress constraints

Host independent

Move between control panels, server stacks and domain names without relying on a host-specific migrator.

Safer cutover

Test the restored destination before changing DNS and keep a recovery archive close by.

Fewer manual repairs

Serialized-safe replacement handles values that plain SQL search-and-replace can corrupt.

Common questions

Know before you move

Do I change DNS before the migration?

Usually no. Restore and inspect the destination first, then update DNS after the site passes your checks.

Do I need FTP or phpMyAdmin?

Not for the standard archive workflow. Advanced hosting access can still be useful when diagnosing a server problem.

Can I move to a different domain?

Yes. The restore process can rewrite the old WordPress URL to the destination URL.

Make the next WordPress move repeatable.

Start with the free migration workflow. Add cloud automation, restore verification and controlled site-to-site Sync when the job demands it.
